It all started in 1981 when Karol Ernest Wedel, a young confectioner from Berlin, came to Warsaw and opened a small shop at Miodowa Street, offering chocolate and caramel. In 1894, his son, Emil, relocated the store and factory to a newly-developed tenement house at Szpitalna Street. The building is still there, hosting the old shop and café – Pijalnia Czekolady E. Wedel “Staroświecki Sklep.” At Galeria Katowicka customers can experience everything that’s best about chocolate. Pijalnia Czekolady E. Wedel lets you discover the chocolate magic. Except for drinking chocolate that is served in a variety of ways, customers can find a lot of other delicacies which simply have to be tasted, including desserts and hand-made pralines. Pijalnia Czekolady E. Wedel is located at the ground floor, next to an exit to the railway station.
