“LIGHT OF TIMES – PHOTOGRAPHY MASTERS” AT GALERIA KATOWICKA

“Light of Times – Photography Masters” is a three-part cycle of photo exhibitions by exceptional artists who are considered legends of Polish and international photography: Michał Cała*, Jan Bułhak and Nadar (Gaspard-Félix Tournachon). Negatyw Gallery’s cultural and art event will be held as part of Galeria Katowicka’s HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT. The series starts on Saturday, September 5, with documentary photography of Silesia in the second half of the 20^th century.

FROM WORKSHOPS AT GALERIA KATOWICKA TO THE SILESIAN THEATER’S STAGE

Pronunciation, voice, breath, stage design, costumes, mnemonics, ability to make the audience laugh, improvisation and abstract thinking – this is what participants of art classes for kids and teenagers were learning at Galeria Katowicka for eight summer weekends as part of the HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT. Their efforts gave rise to a unique play, “Land of the Impossible,” which will be performed at the Silesian Theater on Saturday, September 5.

People, emotions, industrial architecture and pictures from exotic locations, such as Nepal, India, the UAE or British Virgin Islands – best photos from around the globe are coming to Poland for the first time to be shown at the “Our World is beautiful” exhibition. MOBILE STUDENT ACTIVITY ZONE AT GALERIA KATOWICKA

Scream Booth where you can vent your frustrations and check the voice power level, a music corner, relaxation training and board games – the Student Activity Zone of the Silesian University is about to move to Galeria Katowicka for a day. “THE ENROOTED” – MURAL AND PERFORMANCE BY VERTICAL DANCE THEATER TROUPE ON GALERIA KATOWICKA’S WALL

Raspazjan, one of the most original and popular street artists from Silesia, is finishing working on his new piece for “The Enrooted” project. A side wall of Galeria Katowicka will be covered by a mural serving as a background for a vertical dance theater troupe’s performance on September 19.

HISTORICAL SATURATOR BACK ON KATOWICE STREETS

It’s 43 years old. It has been restored and is making a big comeback onto the streets of Katowice. It is one of just three saturators that are still in a working condition in Poland. The original saturator, which appears in a lot of archive pictures taken in the city, is now standing at Plac Szewczyka, next to Galeria Katowicka. Starting from today, the Upper-Silesian capital offers a chance to try slightly sparkling beverages based on old recipes.
