“Dream Christmas” – the first mobile app for a shopping centre, based on augmented reality technology

Galeria Katowicka is the first shopping centre in Poland which used the augmented reality technology in a mobile app. “Dream Christmas” combines the real world and virtual reality. The app takes you to the fairy-tale land, allows you to take pictures with the characters from the Christmas story and make unique Christmas cards.

Galeria Katowicka – new brands, awards and over 2 million customers.

4Faces, a multi-brand shop for people passionate about sports, Swatch, for watch lovers and Kuchnie Świata with food products from all over the world – another brands opened their shops in Galeria Katowicka. The shopping centre, located in the capital of Upper Silesia, gains new awards. The customers also appreciate the new shopping centre – the number of visitors exceeded 2 million – it is as many as there are inhabitants in the entire Katowice agglomeration!

“Dream Christmas” – we can make children’s dreams come true by writing letters

Between December 1 and December 24 this year, a charity event will be taking place in Galeria Katowicka. The success of this event depends only on the engagement of each one of us. You just have to visit our Christmas village and write a letter to Santa. All letters will be sent to Lapland. Each letter means PLN 1.00 donated by Galeria Katowicka to St. Adalbert’s Youth Community Centre in Katowice. For the collected amount the children from the Youth Community Centre will be able to go on winter holidays.

20 new brands in Galeria Katowicka

Within two months from the opening of Galeria Katowicka the shopping centre extended the range of its shops with more than a dozen new brands. The commercialisation of this perfectly communicated facility, located in the heart of the city, reached 93 percent. Among new shops and service points shoppers can find fashion boutiques with clothes and shoes, shops with dietary supplements, books, home accessories and equipment. In the near future, the shoppers will also have the chance to try out the food offered by Sushi-Do restaurant and sweet treats provided by Pijalnia Czekolady E. Wedel – the chocolate cafe.

Plac Szewczyka, in front of Galeria Katowicka, to be the new blood donation point in Katowice

“Don’t pass by indifferently – donate your blood in front of Galeria Katowicka!” is the slogan used by the Regional Blood Donation and Transfusion Medicine Center (RCKiK) in Katowice in their new campaign for blood donation. RCKiK bloodmobile is open for blood donors every Monday between 10 am and 5 pm at Plac Szewczyka, in front of Galeria Katowicka. The change of the previous blood donation point was the result of  the success of this year’s Wampiriada.

Region’s largest flag to show up at 5 am in Katowice

A 3,600 m2 white and red flag will appear at Galeria Katowicka’s elevation on Nov. 11.

Vampires and witches to collect blood in front of Galeria Katowicka

Vampire-bus, a special ambulance used for blood-drawing, will come to Plac Szewczyka on October 28. Wampiriada 2013, an action arranged by the Regional Blood Donation and Transfusion Medicine Center (RCKiK), will last from 10 am to 5 pm. Galeria Katowicka acts as the event’s partner.

Young Nobel laureates in Galeria Katowicka. Learning through play on Oct. 26-27

Little Mary was interested in Physics and would compare molecules in atoms to Waltz-dancing couples. She constructed an atom core model made of layers, getting nicknamed the “Onion Madonna”. Otto was conducting scientific experiments from his youngest years (sometimes with his friend, Albert Einstein). Over the first seven days of its functioning, Galeria Katowicka was visited by 371,500 people. The reconstructed road system around the downtown-located mall also proved its worth.
