Over the first seven days of its functioning, Galeria Katowicka was visited by 371,500 people. The reconstructed road system around the downtown-located mall also proved its worth.
Galeria Katowicka opened last Wednesday (Sept. 18). The first day saw 70,000 visitors, followed by 40,000-56,000 customers on subsequent days.
“It is obvious that footfall on the first days results primarily from interest generated by a new place and does not always correspond to shopping decisions. However, information from our tenants and footfall figures from Monday and Tuesday let me think that the mall has managed to win people over,” says Agnieszka Pyzanowicz-Francke, Center Manager at Galeria Katowicka.
Galeria Katowicka offers perfect transport links – it is connected to railway and bus stations, and one of the region’s major tramway routes runs nearby. Nevertheless, everyone was curious to see the capacity of local roads and an underground parking lot for 1,200 vehicles.
“Traffic wasn’t heavier than it usually is on the opening day of a new shopping center. Thus far the road solutions to which designers paid loads of attention have turned out to be successful,” Pyzanowicz-Francke adds.
