At level “+2” of Galeria Katowicka you can see a photo exhibition by Soren Solkaer – “Souls, the Portraits that Change Others.” The Danish artist is best known for his distinctive manner of portraying contemporary music stars, including Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, U2, The White Stripes, Bjork, Franz Ferdinand and REM. Solkaer has also published books on fine-art photography.

The “Souls” exhibition has already been displayed in New York, Milan, Amsterdam and Oxford. It focuses on yogis who are in the state of complete calmness and relaxation. Expressionist photographs impress people with their size and unmatched attention to detail. The yoga masters’ faces radiate with strength of spirit, encouraging other to seek their own inner world.

Galeria Katowicka’s level “0” offers another exhibition – “2014 Diplomas: Graphic Design.” It presents the best works produced by the newly-minted graduates of the Graphic Design Institute at the Silesian University in Cieszyn. The subjects include book cover designs, fonts, visual identification solutions and package design.
