A nearly 30-metres high photo of Agata from Katowice to appear tomorrow on the DOKP tower block will launch the promotional campaign of Galeria Katowicka. Large format mesh banners, billboards, city lights and ads on buses and trams will all announce the opening of Galeria Katowicka in the cities of Silesia and Zagłębie. The campaign will also feature in Silesian radio stations, press and on the Web.
The ten people from Silesia who participate in the Galeria Katowicka promotional campaign were involved in the “Smile for Summer Holiday” project co-organised by Galeria Katowicka and the ISKIERKA Foundation. Its goal was to promote charity and provide financial support to organise a trip of several dozen of the Foundation’s wards for holiday.
When we went through the photos from the “Smile for Summer Holiday” project, we immediately noticed the enthusiasm and positive emotions on the faces of the participants. That is why we decided to change the initial idea for the campaign and invite a selected group from the holiday project to participate, says Agnieszka Jurkiewicz, Marketing and PR Manager at Galeria Katowicka, because they are authentic and natural and they also live in Katowice or other towns in the region. We wanted our projects to have the same authentic and natural feel to it, so our graphic designers did not introduce many modifications to the original photos with the use of graphic software, which is not a regular thing to do nowadays.
The catchword of the campaign that promotes the opening of Galeria Katowicka is: “18 September. I’ll be there, how about you?” It is not a standard slogan for this kind of events.
Shopping malls usually stress their fantastic offer and exceptional character. We simply encourage people to come and see for themselves, says Agnieszka Jurkiewicz.
The campaign starts on 1 September, but the first posters and the mesh banner on the DOKP tower block will appear on Saturday, 31 August. Billboards and city lights in the entire region will shortly follow. There will be almost 200 of them all together. Ads of Galeria Katowicka will also be on buses and trams. Ads will be broadcast on the radio, printed in newspapers and put on the Web.
Galeria Katowicka will be opened on 18 September 2013 at 10pm. The day before, the nearly 6-year investment process will be officially closed.
The facility forms a part of the Integrated Transportation, Communication and Office Centre located in the very heart of downtown Katowice. The total area of the centre is 30,000 square metres and it comprises the railway station and the underground municipal bus terminal. A modern office building is planned to be erected in the vicinity in the future.
The investors in this nearly 250m euro worth project are NEINVER, Meyer Bergman and PKP S.A. (Polish State Railways). The agent exclusively responsible for lease of commercial space in Galeria Katowicka is Cushman & Wakefield.
