Is it possible to help kids in need by riding a bike? It definitely is! Anyone who rents a bicycle from City by Bike points in Katowice will help kids from Saint Adalbert Community Center. Every kilometer means PLN 1 spent by Galeria Katowicka on school stuff for children.
In order to take part in the “Ride & Help” charity action, all you need to do is rent a bike at one of City by Bike spots – at Plac Szewczyka (in front of Galeria Katowicka), at Stanisława 4 in the City of Gardens’ Gallery, and in the Three Ponds Valley of Katowice Forest Park. All bicycles are equipped with special meters. The bicycle rentals next to Galeria Katowicka and at Stanisława St. are open Monday through Sunday, 12:00-20:00, while the one in Katowice Forest Park operates the same hours from Wednesday to Sunday. Users have to pay PLN 2 for 1 hour, PLN 5 for 3 hours or PLN 10 for the whole day (within the rental point’s opening hours). It is required to present a valid identity document
“Ride & Help” is going to last from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31. It was started by OFF Festival participants.
Galeria Katowicka came up with the idea, whereas City by Bike and City of Gardens: Culture Institute joined the action as its partners.
