Over 20 hours of art classes for kids and teenagers, held each Saturday and Sunday during the holiday season, as part of the HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT in Galeria Katowicka, have led to a unique show which will be presented in an actual theater building.
“Land of the Impossible” is a short theater piece based on an interaction of children and professional actors. It crowns the efforts of kids, their parents and instructors from TRIP Theater. The workshops’ participants tapped into their limitless imagination to develop an original storyline and characters.
On September 5, at 4 p.m., at “Malarnia” Stage of the Silesian Theater (Katowice, Teatralna 2a), the following child actors will play in the “Land of the Impossible”: Julia Gajowska, Nina Bychowiec, Amelia Piech, Emilia Piech, Natalia Piech, Zosia Kapłon, Marta Tatarek, Pola Forlicz, Oliwia Rędzio, Robert Rędzio, Monika Andrychowska and Tatiana Piech. They will be supported by Joanna Chwastek and Anna Bączek-Lieber from TRIP Theater.
The show will be followed by a 10-minute break and “Babroszki lecą w kosmos,” starting at “Malarnia” Stage at 4:40 p.m. This is a story of nice creatures that decide to go to the outer space and take children along. After an emergency landing on the Moon, they come face-to-face with a dangerous count, Robot, and have to free the Moonville’s residents from his reign. This interactive play, directed by Paweł Szymkowiak, uses elements of popular films and fairy tales to direct people’s attention to diversity and the value of tolerance towards other cultures.
