We’d like to recommend new events arranged as part of the HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT. Here’s what we’ve scheduled for the final week of July.
On Tuesday (July 28), at 6 p.m., the University of Silesia is going to hold a private view of a monographic exhibition by Iwona Cichy at level “+2” of Galeria Katowicka. The author is a graduate of the Institute of Art. She also has a degree in Design from the University of Silesia in Katowice.
The exhibition is an overview of the artist’s work between 2008 and 2015. It includes posters covering the realms of ecology, sociology, politics and culture. There are many jazz-related posters which were made for the international “Jazz in the Ruins” festival. The sociopolitical works raise a variety of subjects, including freedom, corruption and upbringing. The exhibition can be viewed at Galeria Katowicka until August 21.
On Wednesday (July 29), between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., Renesans Gallery is going to hold another workshop of the Small ACADEMY of Fine Arts. What will it offer this time? A fascinating opportunity to see the clash of SMALL and HIGH Art, i.e. activities inspired by the works of renowned artists. Each week kids find out a lot about various movements, trends and forms of expression (such as Art Informel, emballage, happenining, environmental art, op-art and performance). While having fun, the can learn and make important discoveries.
On Thursday (July 30), at 5 p.m., Galeria Katowicka will host personal development classes for adults (“Get the Higher Level”). The workshops are conducted by Bogdan Maciejak, personal development coach and motivational speaker boasting over 20 years of experience. The final meeting in July has been dubbed “Each Day is a New Day.” Starting from 6 p.m., participants can enjoy 15-minute relaxation sessions accompanied by peaceful music. They start every half an hour.
All activities within the HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT are free-of-charge and held at level “+2” of Galeria Katowicka. Some are offered on the first-come first-served basis.
