We are cordially inviting everyone to skiing and freestyle workshops with a Polish Champion, Bartek Sibiga, which will be taking place in the very center of the city – Plac Szewczyka in front of Galeria Katowicka. Workshops will start at 10 am and last till the end of the day.
Events planned:
– Skiing and freestyle workshops at the snowpark and on trampolines, supervised by Bartek Sibiga
– Unique workshops for journalists, everyone is invited to our snowpark
– Freestyle-themed films screenings
– Roger Wanke’s photography exhibition
– Contests with prizes
– Additionally, every participant will receive a poster with Bartek’s signature and a diploma proving successful completion of workshops
Our Champion will be available at the park throughout the day. He’s keen to give out some valuable advice, talk about his travels, his life as an athlete and everything else. It’s going to be a unique opportunity to meet Bartek in his hometown, as he will be returning from his training camp in Austria specifically for this event. The day after, Bartek is heading to Spanish Sierra Nevada for the 2015 Winter Universiade.
The event is aimed at everyone who wishes to get a first taste of skiing and freestyle. Apart from Bartek, other professional skiing and snowboarding instructors will be present at the snowpark on the day.
Snowpark at Galeria Katowicka
Snowpark at Galeria Katowicka is open daily – till February 15. It is a place for children to learn skiing and snowboarding. Users have access to obstacles for practicing tricks, slides, trampolines and many other attractions. Equipment can be rented out on the spot. Children are being taken care of by professional instructors, and, when tired, welcome to relax at a cozy rest space – fairy tales and hot chocolate provided.
Bartek Sibiga
Bartek is a multi-medal Polish Championship winner and Poland’s freeskiing national team member. At the moment, he is the only Polish skier jumping double rotations. He ended up on the podium during the most prestigious tournaments in Poland, Czech Republic and Austria. In 2012, Bartek was the winner of Europe’s biggest water jump competition – KROM WARS, as well as the most established event in Poland – Burn In Snow. In 2013 he debuted at the World Cup, scoring 23rd place, which is by far the biggest achievement in the history of Polish freeskiing.
