The idea of bookcrossing was developed in the U.S. in 2001. Basically, it involves leaving books in public places, usually specially prepared for that purpose, where anyone can read it and put it back so that others can do the same later. Apart from books in printed form, the “Free circulation desks” contain also e-books which are available for download using the QR codes.
