Over the past few days we’ve got more summer weather than we could possibly ask for! Anyone spending the holiday season in the city should visit the Summer Chill beach at Plac Szewczyka, where you can relax and improve your fitness level.
New free-of-charge activities:
– CrossFit – Mondays at 5 p.m., Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. – until August 22. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program incorporating a mix of aerobic exercise, calisthenics and weightlifting. CrossFitters boost their strength, muscles and endurance at the same time.
– Yoga Academy – Thursdays and Sundays at 6 p.m. – until the end of August.
The idea behind these yoga sessions is to enhance personal development through a number of basic elements: health and fitness, IQ and EQ, calmness and balance, as well as adequate nutrition adjusted to one’s individual needs.
The sporty side of the Summer Chill beach also includes martial arts shows and practice sessions. On August 21, 24 and 28, Yoshinkan Aikido school is going to present the fighting style used by Tokyo police special forces. Capoeira practitioners will also get a chance to demonstrate their skills.
We would like to remind you that on summer weekdays it’s possible to relax on deckchairs at Plac Szewczyka while listening to music from the project’s partner, Chilli Zet. There is also a food truck zone, a playground for kids, a volleyball court and inflatables (on weekends only).
The Summer Chill Beach at Plac Szewczyka is open until August 28, Mon-Sat 12:00-21:00, Sun 12:00-20:00.
