During the coming weekend, December 14-15, a special event will be taking place in Galeria Katowicka – “Be safe” – organised by the Polish Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service (GOPR). First aid trainings, contests and games for the youngest – these are just a few of the attractions prepared for this edition of the event. Autumn shopping with your family is a great opportunity to revise the basic safety rules during holidays, journeys or even everyday situations. This event aims at promoting safe behaviour and the rules of first aid. Pessimistic statistics presented by GOPR should remind us about the importance of education in these fields. GOPR had carried out thousands of interventions, expeditions and rescue operations last year in the Polish mountains. The most common reasons for misadventures are the reckless behaviour and failure to observe the safety rules during trips in the mountains. “Be safe” is an answer to that problem, as it should educate the tourists who are planning to visit the mountains and also other people about safety in everyday situations. Actions planned for this event aim at engaging children and teenagers and showing the adults how important the safety rules are in our lives. “Be safe” will be full of presentations, first aid trainings and meetings with professional GOPR mountaineers. This year, the shoppers will also have the chance to become potential bone marrow donors.
Tauron Foundation and DKMS, in cooperation with GOPR, will be encouraging shoppers to join the group of potential bone marrow donors.
